Rehabilitation acquired brain damage

Brain damage is an injury that occurs suddenly in previously healthy people causing physical and cognitive alterations, which will later affect their autonomy and social management.

The main causes are strokes or strokes (CVA). These are clinical pictures that are produced by the lack of blood supply to some region of the brain causing an alteration in the function for which that damaged brain area is responsible.

Another one of the main causes is the traumatismos cranioencephalic (TCE), being the traffic accidents the most frequent cause followed of the labor accidents.

Less frequent causes include brain tumors, infections (encephalitis) or cerebral anoxia (lack of oxygen supply to the brain).

The rehabilitation seeks to minimize the deficits or disabilities experienced by people who have suffered brain damage, as well as trying to facilitate their autonomy and social reintegration. The rehabilitation programs use certain techniques of physical therapy, occupational therapy, psychological therapy and speech therapy, depending on the type and degree of disability, which can be used alone or in combination.

In the acquired brain damage center of the Spanish Red Cross of Lugo, we have robotized devices and systems specialized in the rehabilitation of brain damage with which we develop an intensive and interactive therapy.

We develop therapies with the latest technology in robotic rehabilitation Lokomat, VirtualRehab, interactive touch table, with hydrotherapy, etc.

Our programs are specific to integral rehabilitation, interdisciplinary and individualized, allowing an objective evaluation of the monitored progress of the users.
